Daughter of John AMPTYLL and Amy SMITH, and granddaughter of John AMPTYLL and Isabell, and of John SMITH and Elizabeth.

Married on Feb. 8, 1624/5 at Nayland, Suffolk to Mrs. Elizabeth (BOND) PALMER (d. 1667, Watertown, Suffolk Co., MA), widow of Samuel PALMER, and daughter of Jonas and Rose BOND of Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Elizabeth's will was dated June 11, 1664, naming Richard CHILD's wife and son Richard, and Benjamin CHILD's wife. Ephraim and Elizabeth apparently had no children surviving them.
  4. John - b. May 14, 1595, Stephaney, St. Mary, Middlesex; d. there 1595.
  5. Joshua - bap. Oct. 23, 1597, St. Mary Whitech, Stephaney, Middlesex; d. 1638, St. Ethelburga, London. Married on Oct. 28, 1628 to Mary SADLER (b. 1597, London). Sons Joseph CHILD, Richard CHILD and John CHILD settled at Watertown, Suffolk Co., MA. Children: Joseph married Sarah PLATT; Richard married first Mehitable DIMMOCK, and second Hannah TRAINE (ancestors of Pres.   6. Elizabeth - bap. Nov. 25, 1599, St. Helen Bishopsgate, London; d. before 1665, London. Elizabeth loaned £100 to her brother Ephraim. Married first about 1626 Benjamin MILES (bur. Jun. 12, 1631), and they lived at Ware, Hertfordshire, England. Elizabeth married second Robert FOOTE (b. about 1577; bur. Aug. 17, 1645/6, St. Dunstan in the East, London), as his second wife. Robert was the son of Robert and Joane (BROOKE) FOOTE of Shalford, Essex. Children of Elizabeth and Benjamin: Elizabeth died in infancy; Joseph, a priest; and Elizabeth married William GODDARD (ancestors of Pres. COOLIDGE). Children of Elizabeth and Robert: Benjamin died in infancy; Robert died in infancy; Robert married Anne SKINNER; and Benjamin died in infancy.

Benjamin CHILD - bap. Jan. 15, 1631/2, Cottesbach, Leicestershire; d. Oct 14, 1678, Roxbury, Suffolk Co., MA. Son of Benjamin CHILD and Sarah SHENTON of Cottesbach. Genealogy of the Child Families, 1630-1881, by Elias Child includes the descendants of Benjamin. He was a nephew of Ephraim Child of Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA who bequeathed 40 acres of land to Benjamin's first son, Ephraim. Came to America about 1648, probably in company with his Uncle Ephraim and cousins Richard and John. Married about 1653, possibly at Roxbury, Suffolk Co., MA.

Mary BOWEN - b. about 1635, Gower, Glamorgan, Wales; d. Oct. 31, 1707, Roxbury, Suffolk Co., MA. Daughter of Griffith BOWEN and Margaret FLEMING.

Abijah and Priscilla were not married, although her son is always identified as Abijah CHILD, Jr. Priscilla MORSE was married on Oct. 11, 1750 at Woodstock, Windham Co., CT to John PERRIN, son of John PERRIN and Rachel IDE, and they had son Ichabod and daughter Irene. Abijah was first married on Sep. 18, 1749, Woodstock, Windham Co., CT. He married second Apr. 13, 1775, Woodstock, Windham Co., CT Elizabeth PERRIN (b. Sep 23, 1727, Woodstock, Windham Co., CT; d.
